Insert Elephant Joke HERE

Get it?  Elephant ...trunk.  Yep, it's early.  I'll explain later why I'm up and posting at 6:30AM.
Anyway, I bought one of these a few months ago, but it was already painted.  It sold pretty quick in the shop and I really wanted another.  The original plan was not to sell the first one, but to use it for display.  But when I got that one home I just wasn't thrilled with the color and there was not an
easy way to get it back to natural.  So a couple days ago, this beauty presented itself on Craigslist.
It is in rough shape, but that's usually how I get things so inexpensive so it doesn't scare me anymore.

I don't have alot of hard and fast rules about buying.   It varies based on the season, availability, fatal attraction.... you get the idea.  When I do contemplate price on a piece that needs alot of work, I ask myself:  If it can't be saved in some form, am I willing to part with the $X?  For this trunk it was $30.  Obviously, I was ok with that risk.  I don't often have buyers remorse.  If anything, I have didn't buy remorse.
Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda

This one even still had the tray in it.  I will probably separate the two and use the tray for
something else though.  I don't plan on painting this one.  I want to reinforce the lid hinges and just try to clean it up.  Probably going to use Murphy's Oil Soap and I'll have to look into what products are available to rejuvenate the metal panels.

It's mostly metal over wood frame and the scroll is just beautiful.

By the way, I'm throwing this in for fun.  See that chair?  This is where I'm sitting as I write my post.  The humidity was pretty low so it made for a gorgeous morning to be outside.

Have a great weekend!!

What ever you do, it will turn out beautiful, as everything else does.
