Recycling the Needlepoint

Remember the chair as it started?  I couldn't bare to just throw the needlepoint away.  It was probably close to 100 years old.  It was dirty and a little dry rotted around the edge, but the center was okay.

I had to wash it out 3 TIMES.  The water was almost black.  I used Tide and elbow grease.

To dry it, I laid it in half a towel and folded it over.

..then rolled it up and squeezed.

I hung it up to finish drying.

I sewed the same buffalo check to the back and flipped it right side out.  Stuffed it, and...

Pretty Pillow.
The colors came out a bit, though not as much as I had hoped.  Like I said, I just couldn't bring myself to separate it from the original chair, much less throw it away.

Thanks for reading!

I'm glad you didn't throw it out, it turned out beautiful and looks so good on the original chair. There is a way too much thrown away..that is one of my pet peeves. So much beautiful stuff to be salvaged and recycled. Love it!
